MAC New Retro Matte Lipsticks Review

Hello babes!

As most of you, lipstick lovers, would know that recently MAC has launch a new range of lipsticks called the 'Retro Matte' range. I bought 4 lipsticks from that range which are the MAC Steady Going, MAC Relentlessly Red, MAC Dangerous and MAC Ruby Woo. Actually i also bought MAC Flat Out Fabulous but it's not with me as i am back home in Johor Bahru after i stopped working at my previous company in Kuala Lumpur. My MAC Flat Out Fabulous is in KL. So this is why i'll only be reviewing 4 lipsticks out of the retro matte range. I promise i'll definitely do a review on my MAC Flat Out Fabulous as soon as i head back to KL and is able to get my hands on it! Hehe.

The retro matte range was introduced in Malaysia exactly a month ago. All the lipsticks are new colours except for MAC Ruby Woo which is from the permanent range of MAC lipsticks. However, I've never tried it on before. It was just like an ordinary red lipstick. After all, I already have my holy grail hot red lipstick from Bloom Cosmetics (Will do a review on that lippie soon). Anyways, the texture of a retro matte lipstick is a matte lipstick which provides a softer application of colour to the lips. As most matte lipsticks in MAC has a drier formula. The Retro matte range isn't like that. It does not dries the lips like how some normal matte lipsticks from MAC does.

From left to right : Relentlessly Red, Ruby Woo, Steady Going, Dangerous
The first lipstick will be obviously the one and only MAC Ruby Woo. Ruby Woo is like the ultimate red lipstick from MAC. It is the perfect shade of red. No hint of orange, pink or coral tone. It's a pretty shade of red but... that's about it. I'm not like in love with this lipstick whatsoever since I've already found my perfect shade of red lipstick! However for you, girls who have not found your holy grail red lippie, you may like this lipstick. Many people such as the YouTube makeup gurus, rave about this lipstick so much. To me, it was just like any other normal red lipstick with a smooth, soft application of colour on lips. It is easy to wear but it dries up the lips so much, which is not so good. Below are the picture of my wearing Ruby Woo.

The second lipstick is the bubblegum pink shade called MAC Steady Going. This lipstick, I like. It has a pretty baby pink colour with a blue undertone. It's slightly similar to MAC Please Me except that this colour is much more cooler due to the blue undertone. Whereas, Please Me is a more warmer pink. This lipstick, however, is kinda chalky. The colour, when applied to the lips appears to be very chalky. Which is weird. Because this is the only lipstick out of the whole collection to have a chalky finish. My solution for this problem is to use a lipstick brush. It definitely reduces the 'chalky-look' but it still kinda looks chalky. Even after applying a lip moisturizer before applying the lipstick. So, i wasn't really happy with this lipstick.

However, I did like the MAC Relentlessly Red. This lipstick is a pink-red colour. A lil bit more towards the colour red. It's almost like MAC Impassioned but Impassioned is more towards a hot pink colour. This lipstick applies very smooth and it lasts a long time. This is because it kind of leaves a stain on the lips. Even after eating, the colour of the lippie will be there. I wore this lipstick to the mall the other day. After a whole day or eating and hanging out with my family, i did not even have to reapply my lipstick the whole day. The colour was just still there. So for girls that want a long-lasting lipstick, this is it. Plus the colour is really gorgeous!

Next, would be MAC Dangerous. This is a orangey-red colour. It's almost similar to MAC Lady Danger. But MAC Lady Danger is more orangey...? If that makes any sense. Anyways, it's definitely a nice red-orange lipstick. It glides on the lips nicely without settling on the fine lips on the lips. For girls who likes coral colours lipstick, this will be like the perfect dinner-date-lipstick. I personally prefer a solid red colour. But occasionally if i'm sick of the usual hot red lipstick, i will definitely reach out of this lipstick.

These are the lipstick swatches on my hand. And below are the lipstick tubes. As all MAC lipstick, the Retro Matte range also have the standard vanilla scent which is super yummy! The prices are the same too, RM 68 per lipstick. Totally worth it, if you ask me. Coz to me, MAC lipsticks are the best. To read my review on MAC Flat Out Fabulous, click here.

Left to Right : Relentlessly Red, Ruby Woo, Steady Going, Dangerous
Hope you enjoyed this post, girls. Till the next post. BTW, I managed to buy a new camera. So yay! I can take nice, quality pictures again. HAHA

Perfume Review: Taylor Swift Wonderstruck

Hello girlies!

Earlier this month, i purchased the Taylor Swift's Wonderstruck perfume after reading so much of hype about it on the net. I first saw it at Sephora with my friend. My friend loved it and she sprayed some on my hand. As you all know, I have been faithful to Britney Spears' Fantasy perfume forever! But i had to admit that the Taylor Swift's Wonderstruck is equally amazing. Even I can't believe I'm saying this. This perfume smells awesome. I bought the 100ml perfume from Shins at City Square Mall, Johor Bahru for RM 211.50.

If I can describe the scent in one word, it would be MAGICAL. The moment you spray it on your hand, you get a strong sweet vanilla scent. But then after awhile, you get a hint of some fruity fragrance too. If i were to do a break down analysis of this perfume, i would say that it definitely has a strong vanilla scent, mixed with green apple, fressia, honeysuckle, and also a slight hint of floral scent almost like a nice bouquet of flowers!

Another distinctive feature of this perfume is the bottle. It's a deep purple coloured round bottle which has shimmers on it. The cap is pretty, gold-coloured and has some engraving on it. At the nape of the bottle's spray, there is a charm-bracelet-like decoration with consist of a star, a bird and a cage. This is shown in the picture below. The bottle appears strong just like Britney Spears' Fantasy which I have clumsily dropped many times and it didn't even crack at the least bit. Not that I'm planning on dropping my new precious perfume. LOL

The only downside of this perfume is that it does not have a very long lasting scent. In fact it only lasts up on my skin for around 4-5 hours. But that's the only downside. For me that's not really a big deal because i always use a body mist as well whenever I go out.

Anyways, I totally love this perfume. I would probably re-purchase this perfume after i'm done with this bottle. It definitely defines Taylor Swift's sweet, feminine, girl next door personality. I like it because I like sugary sweet smelling perfumes. This perfume is so girly and feminine and young! It is meant for girly girls (like me) and of course all Taylor Swift's fans (okay, this i am not). People who love perfumes like Lola by Marc Jacobs, Hypnose by Lancome and Fantasy by Britney Spears will surely love this scent. As I mentioned earlier, it's just MAGICAL :)

Favourite Drugstore Brand Lipsticks!

Hey peeps!

Time for another lipstick post! As you all know, i'm such a huge lipstick junkie. I love wearing lipsticks and hoarding them. I am not too particular about the brand but i do find myself often at MAC purchasing a new lipstick. That is only because MAC has such a huge range of lipstick colours and also their lipsticks are vanilla scented. And i LOVE anything with a vanilla scent such as cakes or even Britney Spears' Fantasy perfume. Hehee.

Anyways, for those of you whom may not know what the term 'Drugstore Brand Lipstick' means, is it the lipstick brand at Watson's, Guardian or any other pharmacies in Malaysia. Example the drugstore brands are Loreal, Rimmel, Maybelline, Revlon, Silky Girl and many more. I have tried a few drugstore brand lipsticks and ended up liking them a lot. However, most of these brands do not have matte lipsticks. And i use a lot of matte lipstick. Only Revlon and Maybelline, i think, has a small matte range of lipsticks.

So, let's get to it. The first drugstore lipstick that i love is the Maybelline's BOLD Matte Color Sensational in the shade MAT7 which is a beautiful creamy nude pink-beige colour. It is from the new matte range lipstick which was introduced by Maybelline a few months ago. This range mostly consisted of the different shades of red. Except one which is this MAT7. I absolutely love this colour. It is my everyday nude lippie. The colour is a pretty nude that does not wash out my face or make me look super pale. This lipstick has a matte finish but it is not drying at all. Sometimes i feel like i'm wearing a satin-finish lipstick instead of a matte lipstick when i'm using this product. Below is the picture of the lipstick swatch.

The second drugstore lipstick is the Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipstick in the shade #240 Sandalwood Beige. Sandalwood Beige is a creamy coral, peach shade. It has a creme finish. I assumed that the creme finish is equivalent to MAC's amplified finish.  The colour of this lipstick is really opaque (very pigmented) and it's very moisturizing for the lips. I usually use this lipstick with a heavy eyeliner look. I dunno why, but i just like it that way. Haha. I definitely wouldn't call this a nude lipstick because the orange-peach colour stands out pretty well.

The third one would be the Rimmel's Lasting Finish Lipstick in the shade #120 Cutting Edge. This is actually my very first dark coloured lipstick. It's my second favourite vampy lipstick (first is of course, my MAC Diva). Cutting Edge is a dark purple-maroon coloured lipstick. It is a deep berry coloured lipstick. At first, after buying this lipstick, i thought 'no way am i going to ever use this lipstick! It's simply too dark'. But then i changed! :D I became more daring in terms of trying out bolder lipstick colours. Now i love this lipstick so much. Too bad Rimmel cosmetics are no longer available in Malaysia :( This is why i try not to use the lipstick a lot. I only use it for special occasions. The thought of not being able to get it again makes me sad. Oh well, suck it up girl! It's just a lipstick. The high end dupe for this lipstick will definitely be MAC Rebel.

The last but not least would be another Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipstick in the shade #008 Cocoa Cravings. Cocoa Cravings is a nice chocolate coloured lipstick. It has a matte finish which i love. And it's not drying. The good thing about these drugstore matte lipsticks are that they don't cry your lips unlike some MAC lipsticks (Not all MAC matte lipsticks though). The colour of the lippie may look like it's dark brown. But as soon as you apply it, it's actually a soft brown, chocolatey colour! I would describe it as a "dark nude lipstick". For some very tanned girls, this might even work as a nude lipstick.

From the left to right (Cocoa Cravings, Cutting Edge, Sandalwood Beige, MAT7)

PS : So sorry girls, for the very horrible pictures! Firstly, my camera isn't working (So, i had to use my camrecorder -which i'm not too familiar how to use it- in order to take these pics. I have to get my camera repaired ASAP) and secondly, since I've been back home in JB, it's so difficult to find a good spot with good lighting to take pictures (Hence, the awful, messy background in these pictures).

Anyways, we have come to the end of the favourites post! Till the next post, girlies! ~ Hopefully with better pictures!

XOXO

Review : Charles Worthington Frizz Free Relax & Unwind Straightening Creme

Hi girls and guys!

Which one do your prefer; straight hair or curly hair?

I personally feel that both options can make any girl glamorous as long as she knows how to pull it off. And as long as the hair isn't frizzy, right? I mean, nobody wants frizzy hair. I've never met a person who actually likes their hair to be all frizzy. Frizzy hair is never attractive.

Since Malaysia is so hot and humid, it's easy for hair to get frizzy. But don't worry, girls! I found a solution for that. It's called the Charles Worthington's Frizz Free Relax & Unwind Straightening Creme. I purchased it from Watson's last year. It was around RM 29.90. I consider that a steal since going to the salon to blow dry your hair and getting it styled would be around RM 33++. One tube can last up to 6 months? It depends on how often you actually use it. This product has an amazing scent to it. It's kind of like an ocean breeze scent? I'm not really sure if that's the right way to describe that scent. But that amazing scent will linger in your hair for days till you wash your hair again.

It states on the tube that you will get a sleek, kink-free hair with long lasting styles from using this creme. I personally love this product! It does exactly what it says on the tube. This creme is actually meant for straightening your hair. People who want to straighten their hair, must just apply this creme to their hair after washing it with shampoo. Then they have to blow dry their hair straight at a high temperature. After that, they should take their flat iron and straighten their hair for maximum effect.

However, that is not what i do. Obviously because i don't want straight hair. I just want a more tamer, neat  set of curls. So i usually just wash and conditioned my hair. Then i towel dry my hair even though it says here on the tube not to towel dry the hair. Instead just squeeze out the excess water from the hair and then apply the cream to the hair. I don't know how else am i suppose to squeeze the excess water out of my hair besides, towel drying it. So yeah. Then i will massage the cream into my hair and leave it for 20 minutes or so (depending on my mood that day). After that, i blow dry my hair, concentrating on the top area of my hair (since i prefer only the top part of it to be straighter). I don't usually apply much straightening creme on the lower parts of my hair.

The amount of hair cream i usually use
After my hair is dry, i tie it into a low bun at the nape of my neck. This helps the down part of my hair to remain curly and not straight from the effects of the creme. You can leave the bun in for as long as you want. After untying your hair, you will get the most beautiful silky, smooth hair ever! You'll look as though you had just return from the salon. I don't use the creme often, though. Only during days where i want my hair to look flawless and neat. Or else, i can't be bother, to be honest. Haha :D

Hope you liked it! Much love from me~

Victoria's Secret sells COSMETICS too! ~ Lash DARE Mascara Review

Hi Girls!

I recently went to Victoria's Secret to check out their fragrances. Victoria 's Secret is one of my favourite stores at One Utama! It smells absolutely sweet and it's so pink and girly! As you may already know, VS in Malaysia is mostly famous for their fragrances and also merchandise like handbags and purses. To my surprise, i saw cosmetics there too. I mean, i knew that VS has always been selling their signature lipglosses. I had no idea that they sell eyeshadows, mascaras and also makeup kits according to different colours. I was particularly taken in by their mascara.

The mascara is called Lash Dare. It comes in a pink tube with the signature VS pink stripes. Thus, making the mascara look cute and pretty. People would obviously know that it is from Victoria's Secret because of the signature pink packaging. This mascara is only RM 34 which is fairly cheap because even some Maybelline mascaras cost more than that. It only comes in the colour black though.

The wand of this mascara is a tiny, comb-like bristles. The picture of this wand is shown as below. Anyways, this mascara is called a 3-in-1 mascara that means it lengthens, volumises and defines the lashes. After trying on this product, i would have to say that this mascara only defines the lashes. The pros and cons of the mascara is listed below.

Close up diagram of the mascara wand
Pros :  - Pretty packaging
           - Defines the eyelashes
           - Does not clump
           - Does not flake or smudge
           - The black colour is 'very black'
           - Gives a natural touch to the eyelashes. (Suitable for work, college etc.)
           - Affordable price

Cons : - Does not lengthens eyelashes
           - Does not volumise the eyelashes
           - It may look 'too natural'. Thus, making it not suitable if you want a more dramatic look.

As stated above, this mascara is more suitable if you are going for a more casual day-time outing or even work/college. It will be like the perfect day time mascara. If you're a simple girl who likes looking natural and not doll-like, this mascara is definitely meant for you. But it's definitely not the type of mascara if you want more drama in your eye makeup :) This is how the mascara looks on my eyelashes. Please ignore my eyebrow mishap. That threading salon made a mistake. She made my right eyebrow look thicker :(

Hope you girls liked the review. XOXO

BH Cosmetics ~ The Best Inexpensive Makeup Brand EVER!

Hello my fellow makeup lovers!

I love to watch makeup tutorials on YouTube. You know, just to learn new techniques of doing my eyeshadow and also getting a few makeup tips. A month ago, i noticed that all the makeup gurus on YouTube were raving about a certain cosmetics brand which is very high quality but is priced at an inexpensive price. Thus, i decided to check out that cosmetic brand's website. And boy, was i AMAZED!

BH Cosmetics are the most impressive and inexpensive cosmetics brand ever. It is a USA brand. It is solely an e-commerce based business. Even people in US has to buy them online. I immediately checked the delivery list as soon as i entered the website because many US website does not deliver to Malaysia. And guess what? They do delivery to Malaysia. In fact they deliver to every country in the world. How cool is that? Click here to go to BH Cosmetics Official website.

So checked out the website and many eyeshadow palettes were on discount. There are so many gorgeous eyeshadow palettes; 120 colours eye palettes and the 88 colours eye palettes. At last, i chose to purchase the 88 Matte Eyeshadow Palette and the Glamorous 10 Blush set. And guess how much did it all come to? Only USD 34.35 @ RM 116.32 with the shipping cost included! That means you're getting 88 eyeshadow colours and 10 blush for only RM 116.32. That's a steal for me! If i were to buy MAC individual eyeshadow, it will be RM 60++ (I don't remember the exact price because it's been a few years since i bought eyeshadow from MAC) .

BH Cosmetics is really efficient when it comes to the delivery. I got my package within 12 days of me placing the order online! With Saturday and Sundays included. That's really fast especially for a package coming all the way from North Hollywood. Some of you may think 'What if the blush palette breaks? etc etc' Not to worry. BH Cosmetics wrap their products in a way where it can't get damaged. See below for pictures.

Inside the package :)
I was really impressed with their service that i placed another order to buy their 12 Piece Pink Brush Set. BH Cosmetics were having a promotion for their brush sets so i even got the BH Party Girl Palette for free! But i think that promotion has ended already. I got those two for only USD 27.45 @ RM 95.24. I tell you, this is like the best value for money cosmetics store ever. I admit that i'm addicted to their products now. I can't stop buying them. They have so many variety of palettes, brush sets and many more priced at such good affordable prices! To check out my review on the BH Party Girl palette and the 12 piece pink brush set, click here

I still haven't received my brush set and Party Girl palette because i just ordered it last week. Most probably it will be arriving on the 14th Sept. I'm so excited to receive it. Anyways, i took a few pictures of the 88 eyeshadow palette and the Blush set.

Look at how pigmented the colours are! Below are the pictures of the Glamorous Blush Set.

Do check out BH Cosmetics Website. They have so many awesome promotions every other week. I'm sure many of my Malaysian girls are not aware of this amazing brand. That's why i had to share this with you all. Now you know. It's time to go shopping online, babes! :)

That's all for today! Much love <3

Review : Sally Hansen Gel Cuticle Remover

Hey girls! :)

So today I am reviewing this product by Sally Hansen. It's called the Gel Cuticle Remover. As most of you may already know, Sally Hansen is famous for their nail care products such as nail strengtheners, cuticle oils, nail polishes, nail polish removers etc. They also have many manicure kits and tools for people who wants to take care and do their own self-manicures at home. I admit, i am one of them. This is how the gel cuticle remover looks like. It is only RM 29.90 (at Parkson). And if you get it at Watson's it is only RM 26.90. This is an investment if you ask me because it can last a very long time depending on how often you change your nail colour.

I really hate going to the nail salon to do my nails. It's due to several reasons stated below:

1) My nails are small. Like really small. My name nail bed is small, so is my nail. Therefore, i cannot have long nails. It's literally impossible to grow them out. Plus, because of this, i can't really get any nice nail art for my nails, anyways. Once, the manicurist told me that my nails are too small to do a French Manicure which is, by the way, my favourite style for nails. How heartbreaking is that? :O

2) My nails are quite brittle. My nails chip ever so easily.

3) Manicures are relatively expensive and it only lasts up to 5 days (for my nails, at least). So i don't think it's worth it to pay RM 50 to get your nails done and looking nice for only 5 days.

4) Since, i have tiny nails, even the manicurist at the nail salon have no idea how to shape my nails. It's usually square or round, right? But no. Mine has to be a mixture between the two.

Hence, i don't see the idea of going to a nail salon when all she is doing is applying a base coat and then 2 coats of nail polish and then a top coat with that extra nail cuticle oil and some fast drying spray. So, ever since then, I've been doing my own nails. It's actually easy to do your own nails at home. However, i find that removing your cuticles are the most difficult part of the whole process. Because once you have excess cuticles on your nails, it will tend to look unsightly when you apply a coat of nail polish on it.

Cutting your cuticles can tend to be painful. But no worries! I recently found a Gel Cuticle Remover by Sally Hansen which is amazing. And it's easy to use. It comes in a small tube with a small nozzle for easy usage. Firstly, obviously i'll remove any old nail polish from my fingernails. Then, i'll wash my hands which any hand soap. After that, i apply Sally Hansen Gel Cuticle remover to remove the excess cuticle on my fingernails as shown in the picture below.
The instruction behind the box says to wait for 2 to 3 minutes. However, i always put it on for 8 minutes because my cuticles can be tough. After 8 minutes, i massage my cuticle which now has become soft and easy to remove. You can always use a nail clipper to remove the cuticle but i prefer to just use my hands. After removing all the unwanted cuticles, i wash my hands again and then apply some cuticle oil on my cuticles. This will keep your cuticles healthy, soft and supply. Finally after this, I'll apply my base coat, 2 coats of nail polish and then a top coat to maintain the shine of the nail polish. Now, you'll have beautifully manicured fingernails! :)

See, isn't that easy? Be sure to try this at home! : ) XOXO

My 5 Favourite Pink Lipsticks!

Hello my fellow beautiful people! :)

Today i wanted to do a post about my 5 favourite pink lipsticks. As some of you may already know, i absolutely adore the colour pink. Especially when it comes to lipsticks and heels. One of my favourite pumps are bright pink in colour. I mean, who doesn't like pink? My motto in life would be On Wednesdays, We Wear Pink! Mean Girls style, baybeh!

Anyways, my first favourite all time pink lipstick would certainly be MAC Please Me. It is a creamy pale pink lipstick with a slight hint of warm rose colour. It's a very girly girl kind of lipstick which makes me like it even more. Is is a very wearable colour in the sense that it isn't too bright or 'in-your-face' kinda colour. You can definitely use it for work, hanging out with your girlfriends, special dinners etc. This lipstick has a matte finish. This means it is long-lasting because matte finish has a very high staying power on the lips. However, the formula of this lipstick can be tad drying on the lips. So please be sure to use some lip balm before applying this lipstick.

Second favourite pink lipstick would be MAC Impassioned. This lipstick has an amplified finish which means it is not drying for the lips. However, it doesn't last as long as the matte or satin finishes. I find myself re-applying this lipstick a lot whenever i use it. Impassioned is a red-pink lipstick. I love the colour because it the perfect combination of red and pink. It's in between red and pink. Sometimes it looks pink. Sometimes it looks red. On days when you're kinda sick of your classic red lipstick, you can opt for this lipstick! It will be like a refreshing change.

The next pink lipstick will be Inglot's dark pink lipstick in the shade #421. This is the perfect shade of fuchsia pink. It's definitely a fun colour to wear for a Girls Night Out and fancy dinner parties or even formal black tie event. It has a matte finish. Inglot Matte lipsticks are known to be very very drying. So definitely use a lip balm before wearing this lipstick. The only thing that i don't really like about this lipstick is the smell of it. It has a distinct smell of ... orange? And i hate fruity smell- perfume or lispticks. I love MAC lipsticks' scent only because they are vanilla scented! HAHA :D

The fourth lipstick will be MAC Betty Bright. This lipstick is from the limited edition collection called Archie's Girls which was launched somewhere in April 2013 in Malaysia. And boy, did everybody love this collection? This particular lipstick was sold out in the USA within hours as soon as it was available online. I was certainly glad that i picked it up. I remember taking a cab with my friend as soon as work was over just to purchase this lipstick. Lol, that was an adventure by itself. Anyways, MAC Betty Bright is a beautiful coral pink lipstick. To be honest, this lipstick will look gorgeous on people who are on the fairer side. It's a pretty colour but wearing it alone, tends to make my lips look a little weird. You be the judge of it. Nevertheless, i still love this lipstick. It has a satin finish which is perfect because i love satin finish. The colour is pigmented and yet it isn't drying.

Last but not least is my Etude House Code B bright pink lipstick in the shade PK001. Etude House is a Korean brand and they have many branches here in Malaysia. I'm not so sure about Singapore though. But it's so easy to find an Etude House store in Malaysian malls. I love this colour so much. It's a pink lipstick with blue undertones. It has a creamy formula and it's pigmented.

This is the swatches of those lipsticks on my hand. From the left to right. MAC Betty Bright, Etude House PK001, MAC Impassioned, MAC Please Me and Inglot 421.

Don't forget to check out my review on the latest MAC Flat Out Fabulous lipstick from the Retro Matte range! Also do check out the MAC Retro Matte lipsticks Review.

That's all for now, girls! :) Till the next post!

Throw Back Thursdays ~ Family Trip to Universal Studios

Hey peeps! :)

Guess what? It's Thursday again. Time for #ThrowBackThursdays. This Thursday i'll be talking about my trip to Universal Studios, Singapore which is located at Sentosa Island. My parents took my brother, my 2 sisters and i there on April 2011. Whoa, it doesn't feel like it was THAT long ago. It's been 2 years since we were there! I remembered that i was still in university and that i had lose a lot of weight. I have pictures to prove that. That was because i joined the gym and was really motivated to become supermodel-skinny (Though i didn't look like no supermodel. lol).

Universal Studios Singapore has 7 themed zones which is Hollywood, New York, Ancient Egypt, Sci Fi City, Far Far Away, The Lost World (Jurassic Park) and Madagascar. At that time when i went there, the Madagascar zone wasn't opened yet. So we couldn't experience that. Out of all the zones, i liked the The Lost World the most. Their water ride was the bomb! Even with wearing a plastic jacket thingy, my mum and i got wet. Like my hair was drenched. Bad hair day started then. Haha. This is a picture of me and mummy. #WetHairSwag :P

I also liked the Far Far Away zone. They had like a Shrek 4D Adventure where you can watch a 3D show about how Shrek rescues Princess Fiona. There are physical effects in this show too. There is also a kids' roller coaster called the Enchanted Airways. Obviously none of us can go on that since there is no kids in the fam anymore. even my youngest sister was 16 years old at that time. In the New York zone, there is a very nice show called the Lights! Camera! Action! Hosted by Steven Spielberg. It's like a sound stage area fitted with special effects to mimic a major hurricane about to hit New York City.

Apparently the Ancient Egypt zone has a very scary roller coaster ride. I totally chickened out and didn't go for that particular ride. However, my brother and sisters went for it. My youngest sister came back crying to me and my mum. Apparently at one point, the roller coaster moves backwards in the dark. You won't be able to see anything. Imagine how scary is that? :O i was relieved that i didn't go on that ride. After that, we took plenty of photos with the 'mummies', 'Cleopatra' and some hunky tall dude dressed up as maybe Tutankhamen? LOL, joke. He looks like Cleopatra's bodyguard.
Anyhow we had so much fun. It was such a nice family outing. I remember feeling all exhausted and happy at the same time. Food there can be pricey though. So it would be handy to bring your own bottled water. Unless you don't mind paying SGD 10 for  bottle of mineral water. One whole day to spend at Universal Studios is surely not enough! The best would be spending to whole days there. There is a hotel nearby. I think it's the Hard Rock Hotel and Crockfords Hotel. It's definitely better to stay there overnight to enjoy the full experience of Universal Studios. Before heading back home, we managed to witness the fireworks show that the have at the end of the day. The fireworks was of course fantastic. Too bad i couldn't get a picture of it because my phone battery died at the end of the day.

Nevertheless, the Universal Studios in Singapore is worth going to visit. It's close to home, cheaper in comparison with the other Universal Studios in the world. And even better, now the Madagascar Themed zone is already open. My dad wants to take us again during the holidays. I can't wait to experience this again! Below are a few pictures that i took there.

Sea Water Cocktail??? What is that? :P

That's all for now! Hope you guys liked it! Till the next post then.

Style Files #3 Monday Blues Outift

Hey Beauties!

To my career girls out there, looking fabulous at work is a must. I'm sure you girls would agree with me on that statement. Looking beautiful will immediately increase a person's self-confidence level. And it is certainly very important to be confident at your workplace. My work outfit for the day is my formal dress from Dorothy Perkins. It is relatively body fitting But still office appropriate. It also has a cute bow around the waist area in the left side. The dress is stretchable because it does not have a zipper. The sleeves are cup sleeves, just the way i like it to be.

I paired the dress with my red slingback heels from Valentino Rudy. The slingbacks are of satin material, making it look shiny. Since i was wearing a block coloured dress, i decided to opt for my all-time favourite lipstick, MAC Diva. Besides that, MAC Diva would also go well with my heels. I didn't have a proper red handbag for work. Therefore, i used my beige/golden coloured Coach bag. This handbag is perfect for work because it's relatively big, it does not have any annoying flaps or too many compartments. Furthermore, it looks classy enough to bring to work.

I decided not to wear any accessories because i didn't have any suitable accessories to go with this particular outfit. For an example, a red bracelet would go beautifully with this whole look. But I'm not really a big fan of accessories, anyways. I usually keep my accessories to the bare minimum. i only usually just wear different earrings everyday. I don't know why i'm not a big fan of all those chunky bracelets or big necklaces or even fancy hair accessories. That's just not my style. However, i am planning on getting some long necklaces and also some pretty rings. Mini accessories haul coming up soon!

Details of the outfit are as below :-

Dress : Dorothy Perkins
Shoes : Valentino Rudy
Handbag : Coach
Makeup Look : MAC Diva, MAC Studio Sculpt, MAC Mineralize SkinFinish, Benefit BADGal Eyeliner and SilkyGal Precision Liquid Liner, NYX Lip Liner in Deep Red

That's all for today :) Thank you for reading my blog! XOXO

Makeup Look #3 All About Eyeliners

Hey Girls and Guys! :)

I'm sure most girls love to wear eyeliners, right? Some girls might wear them on a daily basis and some of the others might only wear them on special occasions. As you all know, there are many types of eyeliners ; pencil liners, liquid liners and gel liners. I would rate pencil liners as the easiest to use and the liquid liners comes next and finally the least easiest would be gel liners. This is what i personally feel. Not necessarily everybody will find gel liners difficult to use. In fact some people prefer to use a gel liner because it has a more greater lasting power than a pencil liner.

So below are the eyeliners that i currently have :
I always do my eyeliner style differently everyday. On some days, i feel like being more simple. On other days, i feel like being a little more dramatic. You could say that i don't have just one staple eyeliner style. However, i do like the winged out eyeliner effect a lot. Below are the looks the few eyeliner styles that i usually do.

The Simple Lined Upper Lids

I usually do this with my Benefit BADgal Eyeliner because this eyeliner doesn't smudge at all. It's waterproof and the black colour is so pigmented. Of course you can use any eyeliner for this look if you don't have the Benefit BADgal eyeliner. However, if you are using an eyeliner which easily smudges, the lower eyelids (which should be free from any liner smudges) will tend to get smudged. And that is something that you wouldn't want. So be sure to use an eyeliner which does not smudge. After that, I take my Essence's Kajal Pencil and line my waterline with it to give the illusion of bigger eyes. Yup, that's the secret, girls!

The Regular Lined Eyelids

This is the usual eyeliner look which can be achieved with any of the pencil liners. It's easy to achieve and also suitable for any occasion. All you need to do is line your top lids with an eyeliner of your choose and then line only half of your lower lids as shown in the picture below.

The Reverse Lined Eyelids

I think this is the easiest way to wear eyeliner. It literally involves only one step. Which is to line your waterline with a pencil liner. I never use liquid liner or gel liners to line my waterline because i feel that it is simply impossible to not get the eyeliner in your eyes. Pencil liners are usually non-transferable to contact lens. And i do wear contact lens. So yeah.

The Winged Out Effect

This is my all-time favourite eyeliner style to do. When i was in university, this look was my everyday eye makeup look. Since, i wasn't really good with eyeshadows during my studying days, i always just apply eyeliner with a wing for that extra oomph! And VOILA! It has now become my favourite look. I usually line my top lids with a pencil liner. And then for the wings, i take my SilkyGirl liquid liner to draw it. It can be a thick wing or even a thinner wing. I absolutely love the SilkyGirl liquid liner because it is matte and not glossy/shiny like most liquid liners. Even some high end brands liners are always so glossy/shiny. I personally do not like the whole glossy/shiny effect in any of my black liquid liners. i prefer the lines to be matte. That's just me, i guess :)

The Coloured Liner

Whenever i want to use my coloured liners, i will always line my eyes with a black eyeliner pencil beforehand. It's definitely not wrong to just straightaway apply the coloured liner on your eyelids. But as for me, i like using a black liner first and then only lining the coloured liner above the black line. I think it gives a more attractive look to the whole eyes.

The Dramatic Eyes Effect

The dramatic look can be achieved by lining the whole top lids and bottom lids with a pencil liner. Take a smudging brush to slightly smudge the bottom lid to give a more smokey effect (You can always use your fingers too). It is optional to add the wings. Below are the pictures of dramatic eyes effect with wings and mascara.

That's all for today! Hope this post was useful to you. Byeeeeeeeee :D
