My All-Time Favourite Makeup Removers! (Drugstore & High End)

Hey Girls!

My cousin bro's wedding is SUNDAY! Eeeekkk! That's so soon. I finally got all my saree blouses tailored and they are ready to be worn. It didn't turn out exactly the way i wanted it, but this will do. I will definitely be doing a Get Ready With Me post for my cousin bro's wedding so that you can see what i wore and how i did my makeup as well as my hair. Probably my hair will be styled into an 'Indian braid' style. But i'm still clueless about what i'll do with my hair. Since i'm the bridesmaid, i think my hair should be tied into a braid, but then again, i'm not sure who will be doing my hair. So that's that. I'm really excited for the wedding already!

Anyways, today i'll be talking about makeup removers. Makeup removers are vital when it comes to taking off your makeup at the end of the day. I know that sometimes you can be very tired at the end of the day and taking off your makeup can be such a hassle. But please, do NOT ever sleep with your makeup on. For me, taking off my makeup and washing my face twice before putting on my skincare routine is a must every night. I do not skip this step. Sleeping with your makeup on is just bad. There can never be a good outcome from sleeping with your makeup on. Your pores are going to be clogged with oil and dirt and makeup. That's just not something you want. And sleeping with your makeup causes pimples big time. No surprises there.

So, I have 2 ways of removing my makeup. One is by using a high end product : Lancome Gentle Softening Cleansing Fluid for face & eyes. This makeup remover is in a liquid form. It's in a milky, almost cream-type texture but slightly "liquid". I always use this with a cotton square. I just simply pour the cleanser on to a cotton square and then just let the cotton absorb it before using it to wipe off the makeup that's on my face. It is wonderful as it removes waterproof mascara and any type of eye makeup. You may experience a slight burning sensation on your face if you apply it directly on your skin without a cotton square. Therefore, PLEASE use a cotton square for the sake of your own comfort. I don't have the full size bottle of this product as the one i'm currently using is actually a sample given to me by the Lancome counter girl when i bought a few skin care creams earlier last year.

The second product is a drugstore brand product : The Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes. This facial wipes is the BOMB! It's awesome, it removes any kind of makeup, it's very convenient for when you're travelling as you don't need to bring any other cotton squares whatsoever. You just gotta carry this baby in your bag and you're good to go. To be honest, this is the makeup remover that i reach out for, on a regular basis. I only use the Lancome makeup cleanser whenever i'm wearing a lot of makeup (aka eyeshadows, blush etc). But on a daily basis, this Simple wipes are the best! It's relatively inexpensive- retails at around RM 29.90 (prices varies at different stores). One pack always last me for a month or so. It depends on how often you actually use makeup. I'm guessing it has around 25 wipes in one packet. It's obviously less messy to use when compared to the Lancome Cleanser. Another thing that i love about this wipes is that they are so gentle on the skin. It does not have any burning or tingling sensation when come into contact with your skin. So that's a big plus point here.

So yeah. Those were my thoughts on the 2 makeup removers that I've been using and enjoying lately. Be sure to try them if you need a good cleanser to remove your makeup. Remember makeup is fun to use but it must be properly removed afterwards in order to prevent your skin from breakouts and pimples! You can never be too safe.

Happy Chinese New Year, folks! So glad that i'm back home in JB for the CNY break. I'm actually flying off to Penang tomorrow for the wedding on Sunday. My parents wanna be all touristy for a few days before we attend the wedding there. Byeeeeee :)

I love you all <3

How to Clean & Wash Your Makeup Brushes?

Hello Peeps!

My post today is going to be about how i regularly wash my makeup brushes. You only need a shampoo of you choice, a bowl of water, baby oil, and a plate/tray. People may underestimate the importance of washing their makeup brushes. It is so important! Especially if you have acne prone skin or your face breakout easily. Girls with sensitive skin should also wash their brushes regularly. I mean, come on, it's always good to be hygienic.

This is the shampoo that i use. It's the Tresemme Moisture Rich Shampoo for dry or damaged hair.

The baby oil i use is the regular Johnson's Baby Oil.

I usually wash my brushes every 3 weeks. But that depends on how many times I've actually used all my brushes. I don't wear eyeshadows regularly. So i don't have to always wash my eyeshadow brushes as often as i wash my foundation or powder brush. Anyways, washing your makeup brushes is really easy. When i first started wearing makeup, my mum bought the MAC brush cleaner for me. It was expensive for a soap. At that time, i had no idea that i could actually just use hair shampoo to wash my brushes. Hair shampoo is an inexpensive option to wash your brushes.

My dirty makeup brushes that needs cleaning badly!
I've watched tonnes of videos in Youtube where the makeup guru washes her brushes with hair shampoo.  I find my brushes to be cleaner whenever i use my shampoo and not the MAC Brush Cleaner. So if you're interested, this are the steps that i do when i'm washing my brushes.

Step 1 : I squeeze some shampoo on a tray. You don't need so much of shampoo. The amount that i put on my tray is enough.

Step 2 : Dip your brushes individually on the shampoo and start to gently scrub them with your fingers.

Step 3 : After that, wash the brushes with water. Rinse off all the soap properly.

Step 4 : Get a bowl of water ready. Put 2 to 3 drops of baby oil into the water bowl.

Step 5 : Dip your WASHED and CLEANED brushes into the water bowl. The purpose of the baby oil is to bring some softness back to the bristles of the brushes after washing it. This is to ensure that your brushes will remain soft and bouncy.

Step 6 : Finally, shape your brush the way is way before you washed it. Leave it to dry like that. This is to maintain the shape of the brushes.

And that's it, people! Isn't that simple? Make sure you try this when it's time to clean those brushes, girl! That's all for now. I know it been quite a few days since i last posted but that's because i have started working again and I've been so busy lately. Sorry, won't happen again. I'll be posting many posts in the near future! I love you all <3

Happy Chinese New Year!

MAC Faux Lipstick Review (New Favourite!)

Ola girls!

So you guys definitely know that i'm a huge lipstick junkie by now. Especially MAC lipsticks. They are just the best lipsticks ever. I can't stop raving about them. Even though they are like RM 68 per tube, i will still buy them. I will buy them like it's my job. LOL. My latest obsession is the MAC Faux lipstick. I've been using this lipstick ever since the day i got it. It's such a pretty lipstick colour. I've used this lipstick in countless makeup looks. Check out my makeup looks featuring the MAC Faux here and here.

MAC Faux is a satin finish lipstick. The lipstick colour is opaque and not drying. It's long lasting. I've used this for 4 hours straight without needing to touch up. But it does fade if you're gonna be eating greasy food. Which is normal. All lipsticks fade when you eat oily/greasy food. It does have the signature MAC lipstick vanilla scent. And it is retailed at RM 68 as usual.

The MAC Faux is a super soft pinky mauve colour. It does not look nude on me. It does look like i'm wearing a soft pink lipstick. It is definitely a wearable everyday pink lipstick. This lipstick will be very suitable for office makeup or even if you wanna look dressed up for a party. It's very versatile depending on your eye makeup. That's why i love this lipstick. It's just so gorgeous! This is a swatch of the lipstick on my hand.

This lipstick is suitable for fair to medium skinned tone girls. It might look nice on dark skinned girls too but my friend who is darker than me tried on this lipstick and she looked like Nicki Minaj. So it depends on your preference. If you like the Nicki Minaj look, then go for it. But if you're not into those looks than, i would say skip this lippie. However, if you're my skin tone, you HAVE to get this lipstick! It's too pretty for you to resist.

This is how it looks on me. Definite YAY for this one! I wore it to my interview on Monday. I look intelligent and smart, don't ya'll think so? ;) LOL.

I heart you all <3

Makeup Look #10 Winged Out Smokey Eyes Look

Hello my beautiful ladies,

So, I just got a new job on the 15th Jan. I'm excited about my new job. I've been bumming at home for too long already. It's about time i start earning again! So yeah. Of course, I'll still be posting a lot of blog posts. Today's look is going to be the black winged out smokey eyes. I think every girl (and guys) would know about this very popular look. I mean, even my mum (she doesn't wear makeup except for lipsticks) knows about this ever popular look. I would say this look is relatively simple because all you need to do is slap on some colour and then blend, blend, and BLEND.

I'm not using any eyelid primer just because i'm already using a kajal kohl jumbo pencil stick from Lakme all over my eyelids. This product is very pigmented and the black is so black. Like I absolutely love this product. I would say that this product is hard to find because it is an Indian cosmetics brand called Lakme. They only sell Lakme cosmetics in the local Indian stores called Madura in Malaysia. So yeah. Be sure to check out any Indian area like Brickfields or Klang. This product will probably be easier to find there. I got mine from the Madura store in Johor Bahru. BUT... I can't seem to find it anymore. Yikes! It's a great product which cost very cheap. I got mine for RM 15.90. I've JUST found a substitute for this product -NYX jumbo Pencil in Black Bean.

Then i take the MAC eyeshadow in Carbon and place it all over my eyelids where I've put the black kajal kohl jumbo stick. This is to mattify the eye look. Then i take the Essence Black Kajal liner and line my lower lash line. Then i take a pencil brush to smudge out the lower lash to make it look more smokey. After that, i use the Maybelline Crayon Liner to line my waterline. This is to give that intense smokey eye look. I took the 'Stone' eyeshadow from the Bobbi Brown palette and place it on my crease as a transition colour.

I apply my mascaras as per usual. Then i conceal under my eyes to hide em' dark circles. I used 2 concealers because the Revlon concealer works as a highlight for me as it is 3 shades lighter than me skin tone. I set my concealer with the Inglot Mattifying Powder. I applied my foundation and set it with my mattifying powder from Essence. This powder is awesome! For my blush, i used the Bobbi Brown limited edition blush called Clementine. It's a pretty coral coloured blush. I applied the blush with a light hand because this blush is very pigmented and intense.

For my lips, i wanted a peachy nude lips. So i used the MAC Siss lipstick which is a very gorgeous nude beige lipstick for tan girls and i applied the Revlon Sandalwood Beige on top of that for that hint of peach.

And this is the complete look. The Classic Smokey Eyes look. I'll be posting another smokey eye look using the NAKED 3 palette soon. So be sure to check that out too!

Things That I Use To Achieve This Look :-

MAC Siss Lipstick Review

Hellooooo :)

It's yet another lipstick review from the Lipstick Junkie herself. This time it's on the MAC Siss lipstick. This lipstick is known to be the super nude pale lipsticks for tan girls! It's one of the famous MAC lipsticks. MAC Siss is a golden nude brown colour. It is a very nude lipstick. Kind of like the concealer lips concept. It's that pale. I like to call it my Kim K-Nude-Lipstick-Look. This lipstick has been a part of me throughout my whole university life. Yes, believe it, guys! I only had like 4 lipsticks throughout my college days, and MAC Siss was one of them. I went through 3 tubes of this particular lipstick.

I love this lipstick. It's like the "MAC Myth" lipstick for tan girls (PS: MAC Myth is the holy grail nude lipstick for fair skin girls). The colour of this lipstick is so one-of-a-kind. I've never seen a nude lipstick in this shade at the drugstores. Maybe coz Malaysian drugstore brands sucks big time. Anyways, this is the swatch of MAC Siss on my hands. As you can see, it does not have a pink undertones at all. It is so similar to my skin tone! LOL.

MAC Siss is a satin lipstick so it's not very drying. It's definitely long lasting. It has a very good colour pay off because the lipstick is so pigmented. As usual, it has the signature MAC lipstick scent, which is really nice because i love vanilla scent. You can totally use it on it's own or with the MAC Lip liner in Cork.

Since this is a very pale lipstick, it's best to use it with a smokey eye look. Or even a nice eyeliner look. Throughout my college days, i use this lipstick with just a simple eyeliner look. So that actually looks. You can always apply a gloss on top of the lipstick if you want that glam-doll look. I'm totally fine with using the lipstick as it is because i do like the whole "very pale nude lips" look.

I think it will suit girls with any skintone especially the tan girls! This lipstick is made for tan girls! It's the gorgeous nude lipstick ever. Though now i do like MAC Cozy Up (I got this last year) because it has a lil bit of colour. But seriously, I have used up like 3 tube of MAC Siss lipstick. I've not used up any MAC lipstick as much as this (I've bought MAC Please Me twice after the old one has finished but that's it).

This is me wearing MAC Siss. I was just about to hangout with my friend at my friend's place. Therefore, I'm just wearing this lipstick with eyeliner only. Sorry if it's to UN-glam for you! As i mentioned earlier, it's best to be paired with a nice eye makeup and blush.

That's all for now. If you like what you see, go to your nearest MAC store to pick up this baby!

How to Cure and Prevent Acne/Pimples?

Hello, lovelies!

Hope everyone is good and healthy. Today i'm going to blog about how to prevent and treat pimples or acne. Pimples are very common among teenagers especially. That is the time where our hormones are all bizarre. But surprisingly i did not have any pimples during my school days. I only started having pimples in university around the age of 20. But thank goodness, i went to the dermatologist and got treatment after i graduated from university. And after 6 months of being under medication, my face has cleared up really well, and i only get occasional tiny pimples a week before i get my period. So that's good.

But i'm not going to be talking about the medication that i was on. That is for another post. And also because that medication has a lot of side effects and controversies that i'm confused if or not i should recommend it to you guys. So yeah. Maybe some other time.

Today, i'm going to be giving you guys tips on how to cure and prevent pimples. After all, prevention is better than cure. Below are so of the tips that i have.

Prevent :-
Don't sleep with makeup on (duh)
If you have oily skin, make sure you wash your face before you sleep at night or even during the middle of the day when you feel that your face is oily
If you use makeup brushes, be sure to wash them regularly (once in 2 weeks?)
Make sure you take off your makeup properly
Try not to eat nuts, chocolates or oily food often because those food can cause pimples
Make sure that your pillow case and bedspread is clean at all time
Use only a FACE towel to wipe your face and nothing else
Drink plenty of water
Get enough sleep

Cure :-
Use an acne controlling facial wash
Use tea tree oil to cure pimples (You can use The Body Shop tea tree skin care range)
Moisturize your skin! (This is to reduce the inflammation and irritation of the skin)
Don't overload your skin with benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid.
DO NOT pop your pimples or acne! Omg, just don't do that please. It's bad and unhygienic
Use an acne treating mask once a week. For eg. you can use the Neem Purifying Face Pack.
Drink one spoon of diluted apple cider everyday. Apple cider can cure pimples because it gets rid of all the toxins in the body.
Use toothpaste on your stubborn pimples
You can also use baking soda on your acne

So there are a few products that i would recommend to those that are suffering from pimples and acne. These are the products that I've used when i had pimples. First is The Body Shop Tea Tree Skincare Range. They are really amazing! Especially the Tea Tree Night Lotion and the Tea Tree Oil. I think i went through like 2 bottles of these products.

The next product is the Yves Rocher Pure System which is designed specially for acne prone skin. This products have the most freshest and amazing scent ever! It has this super fresh and beach-ish scent. So refreshing and your pimples will disappear when you use this products. I particularly LOVED the Daily Exfoliating Cleanser and the Stop Blemish Lotion. Seriously, this is amazeballs, people! And it's not expensive like The Body Shop. You can get the Yves Rocher brand at Watsons. If you stay near Sunway Pyramid, then go to Sunway Pyramid and check out their physical store there.

The last but not least solution is a high end brand. It's the Clinique Acne Solutions. While i was in university, i sometimes visit my aunt and sleepover at her place for the weekend. So i remember telling her about my pimple problems. She went to her bedroom and then came back with a Clinique Acne Clearing Spot Healing Gel. And also some Clinique 10 day Exfoliating Scrub. Something like that. I can't really remember the name of the scrub. But i knew it was some everyday gentle scrub. I really loved the Clinique Acne Solutions Spot Healing Gel. It really helped my skin then and i was so grateful to my aunt for being so generous and giving me those skincare products. I love you, aunty! Hehee.

That's all, peeps! These are my recommendation for acne treating skin care products. Hope this is helpful to you all. Whatever it is, always be confident and comfortable with yourself. Remember acne and pimples can be easily treated. So no worries.

I love you, all <3

Essence Sun Club Glamour To-Go Eyeshadow Palette in #01 South Beach

Hey lovelies,

A few months ago, I blogged about the new (now not so new anymore) Essence Cosmetics Brand in Watsons. I specifically blogged about their Kajal eyeliners. This brand is inexpensive and it's relatively good! I'm lovin' it when it comes to eyeshadows and powders! So today, i'll be reviewing their eyeshadow palette called the Sun Club Glamour To-Go palette in #01 South Beach.

The Essence Sun Club Glamour To-Go Eyeshadow was retailed at RM 15.90. There are 8 eyeshadow colours in this palette. The eyeshadows are definitely not from the same 'colour group' like most Revlon and Maybelline eyeshadow palettes. So you can definitely do many eyeshadow looks with this palette. There is also a mixture of shimmery shadows, matte and also glittery ones. This palette comes with a double ended brush like any other eyeshadow palette.

The first colour is a bright blue. It has some substantial amount of shimmer in it but it's still wearable. This eyeshadow also has a nice sheen to it. Below the blue shadow, is a shimmery green colour. The next colour is a matte yellow eyeshadow. This is a one-of-a-kind colour, if you ask me. Then below that, is a mint green matte eyeshadow. I love this colour. It's so pretty and fresh!

Beside the yellow shadow is the salmon coloured shadow which is absolutely gorgeous. It does have some shimmer in it. Below that is a chocolate brown shadow with golden flecks of glitter. However, when you actually swatch this shadow on your hands, you won't be able to see any of those annoying golden flecks. I'm not much of a shimmer person. So yeah. Thank goodness! Anyways, beside the brown shadow is a gorgeous champagne colour eyeshadow. I don't really have any champagne coloured eyeshadow, so i like this shadow.

The last eyeshadow is this glittery frosty gold eyeshadow. This is my least favourite eyeshadow because it has a lot of fallouts due to it's heavy dose of glitter. The colour by itself is actually nice. If only it didn't have all those glitter... These are the swatches of those eyeshadows on my hand.

Anyways, this is the first look that i came up with using this palette.

This is the second eyeshadow look using the salmon and brown eyeshadow.

The eyeshadow colours have an okay pigmented after using an eyeshadow base underneath them. So for the price, these shadows are such a steal. Plus you can come up with SO many looks by just using this tiny little palette. And it's super inexpensive. It's suitable for girls that want several eyeshadow options without breaking the piggy bank!

Personally, i wouldn't find myself reaching out for this palette much whenever i'm doing my makeup because i find the eyeshadows to be too powdery and too shimmery. But it will be very suitable for school girls or college girls that have a tight budget on makeup. For me, i just don't really like this palette.

Essence Cosmetics are available in all Parkson stores and also most Watsons outlets in Malaysia. So check out their cosmetics if you're looking for good quality cosmetics for a cheap price!

Review : Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Face Pack

Hey peeps!

So a few days ago, on a Sunday evening, my sisters and I were bumming around at home without anything to do. So i decided to give them a facial since i was so bored and so were they. I've had my Himalaya Herbals Neem Face Pack from last year. I've used them quite a number of times but not recently. Himalaya products can be found at any Shins stores in Malaysia. I'm pretty sure Watsons sells them too.

This face pack has several notable ingredients such as Neem (obviously), Turmeric and something called Fuller's Earth (Multani Mitti). Neem is well-known for its purifying and antibacterial properties. It also helps to control acne and pimples from reoccurring. Turmeric helps to remove any acne-causing bacteria on your face. On the other hand, Fuller's Earth cools and soothes the skin as well as improving skin texture. All these 3 ingredients will leave you with a clear problem-free skin!

This Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Pack is retailed at RM 27.90. It is specially for people with normal to oily skin. I have oily skin and this product is amazing. I feel that it really deep cleanses my skin. It also contains 100% Herbals Actives. One tube has about 150ml. Which is a good amount that will last you for about 8 months if you use it once every week. It depends actually on the actual amount that you use. It states at the back of the tube that you should use it once or twice on your face. People suffering from acne should probably use this product twice a week.

Personally i use this face pack only like once in 3 weeks when i want to deep cleanse my skin. I usually use my Freeman Apricot scrub once in 2 days, to get rid of any dead skin on my face. The Himalayas Herbals Purifying Neem pack is like my Home-Facial treatment. It is a good product that leaves your skin feeling soft, as well as keep your skin pimple free. When you apply this product of the first time, you get this tingling feeling on your face which happens due to the 100% Herbal Actives. It shows that the face pack is working. But after using it for a few times, you'll be used to the product, that you won't feel that tingling sensation anymore.

The Neem face pack is a moss-green cream with tiny beads of particle to exfoliate your face. It has a strong scent of neem and turmeric but it is bearable. After all, you only need to put the mask on your face for 10 to 20 minutes only until you feel the mask has dried up on your face. Then to take it off, I usually just rub off the mask using my wet hands slowly till the whole mask is off. The wash your face with cold water. That's all! Simple as ABC!

Check out my Neutrogena Deep Clean Brightening Mulberry Foaming Scrub! It's my absolute favourite scrub for when you want your skin to look brighter and more fresh looking. It works like a charm and it is my almost daily scrub to use. I alternate between this scrub and my Freeman Aprioct creamy scrub.

Thank you for reading! :)

Urban Decay NAKED 3 Palette Review & Swatches!

Good afternoon!

Guess what? I finally got the NAKED 3 palette from Urban Decay! I'm so excited. I've never really gotten any cosmetics from Urban Decay before. I know, I've watched so many makeup tutorials in YouTube and the makeup gurus often rave about the NAKED palette original one. It's like the best eyeshadow palette to create neutral, natural look. Don't get me wrong, you can also create really dramatic looks as well as smokey eye looks too. It's like the perfect eyeshadow palette to take on a holiday if you don't want to be lugging around with so many makeup items.

I don't own the original Naked palette. But when the Naked 3 palette came out, i just had to try it because they colour them of the shadow palette is netural rose hues. And I LOVE neutral rose colours so much. i find them very feminine and sweet and sexy. So i just had to get my hands on them. I went to Sephora a few weeks back and bought it. It is retailed at RM 188. I admit that it is kinda pricey for an eyeshadow palette but i really wanted to try out Urban Decay's eyeshadow and see if it really lives up to it's hype. And just as I expected, it did. This palette is so amazing, i'm thinking of getting the original NAKED palette.

So the Naked 3 comes in a metal case which looks very pencil-box-like. It is very similar to the Naked 2 palette. I personally prefer the original Naked palette because it just looks so much more classic. But anyways, this is alright too. It comes with 12 different eyeshadow colours. All colours are new. There are 3 matte shadows, a few shimmery shadows and also a few glittery shadows. My favourite matte shadow is of course 'Light' and my favourite glittery shadow is 'Blackheart'. This palette also comes with a double ended brush which is actually GOOD for putting on eyeshadow. Most eyeshadow palettes comes with a brush which is so not suitable to apply eyeshadow but this brush is actually awesome.

These are the swatches of the eyeshadows on my arm.

Close up of the eyeshadow colours. From left to right; Strange, Dust, Burnout, and Limit.

From left to right; Buzz, Trick, Nooner, Liar.

From left to right; Factory, Mugshot, Darkside and Blackheart

When you purchase this palette, you will received a 'week's worth of primer'. There are 4 pods of Urban Decay eyelid primer. 1 pod can last up to a week's supply of primer. So that's generous of them. I haven't tried any of the primers but i have read some reviews on them and apparently it's good. So yeah. Urban Decay has 4 types of eyeshadow primer which is the Original one, Eden, Sin and the Anti-Aging. I have yet to try them! Below is the pictures of the pods.

And this is a picture of me rockin' some of the eyeshadows from the Naked 3 palette. The colours are so versatile, it's AMAZING. If you're an eyeshadow girl, you have to have this palette. Or if you're a girl who likes natural, neutral colours for your makeup, this palette is made for people like you. I'm seriously lovin' it. Whenever i'm going out to dress up for dinner or a party, i find myself reaching for this palette ever so often. Because the eyeshadows are finely mill and they feel so smooth and buttery. I dunno if that made any sense to you, but that's what it feels like. The eyeshadows are definitely made from high quality ingredients.

Below is a simple eye makeup look that i created. I used Liar all over my top lids, and then i used Nooner in my crease. Then i took Limit to highlight my browbone. After that, using an eyeliner brush, I put the colour Darkside on my lower lash line. Then I used the colour Burnout for my inner corners. And voila! The look is complete!

So my rating for the Naked 3 palette is 10/10. It's perfect! Personally, i feel that it is a big beauty-must!

Much love from me <3
